one last day to go..

Tomorrow the Venus Summer School will meet for the last time. This event was a great experience for me - organising it, the marketing campaign, then meeting the participants and most importantly - the things I learnt. I feel like I discovered new continents still to be conquered: rich, promising, densly populated with magnificent tools but dangerous in many ways.. the experiment made by guys from Cologne University: monitoring human social internet activity, "social badges" to record sound/ speed/ relocation, the issues of hidden marketing that manipulates subconsciousness of social software users - made me shiver at times, and it was not because of web 2.0 frenzy.. "EPIC 2014" that I just watched on youtube made it clear where the humanity is going right now ..

On the other hand - so many things can be done independently of hardware / software we have, time, location, age...

results of our work this morning

This morning was very busy for us all here in Szczecin - we published, shared, tagged, searched, set up accounts, hyperlinked...

Here are the results: a wiki page of Szczecin Summer School Participants

Social software for education - DAY 1

As our Summer school goes by the weather is getting suprisingly better - the temperature outside is rising together with the level of our knowledge on social software :)

Moodle's being discussed now - E-UNIVERSITY on one platform, so many teaching /learning posibilities.

So lucky to live in 21st century! time and space so irrelevant..

THIRD day's over...

After today's lecture issue of privacy on the web became a hot issue .
Social software turns out to be means for checking on our contacts, tastes, needs, effectiveness at work, preferences in music, clothes etc.. Like anything else in the world: social software can be used to help and to harm.

It is up to us how we will put it to work.

Audience grew bigger :))

Latest discovery: even people from IBM can have problems with IT trivia :)) (zooming the cam sometimes turns out to be way too much to handle)
